LISREL is a statistical software package for Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), used to test and estimate models that include both observable (manifest) and unobservable (latent) variables. Its name is an acronym for “LInear Structural RELations,” and it allows researchers to analyze relationships between latent variables and their indicators, handle measurement and structural errors, and perform analyses such as confirmatory factor analysis and multilevel modeling.
